Every student is assigned an ipad to use in the classroom. Utilizing the ipad the students use various learning apps that include:


Epic!: An online collection of ebooks spanning multiple grade and reading levels. Epic also includes educational videos and audio books.


Starfall: A website and an app that helps children read with phonics.


ABCya: A collection of online games organized by grade level (K-5). Games incorporate areas such as math and language arts while introducing basic computer skills.


Typing Practice (1-2 Computer Lab): An online learn to type website that provides lessons and records the progress of each student. The lessons provided come in a wide variety of categories and include memorizing keys on the keyboard and correct use of the hand and finger positioning to name a couple.


Accelerated Reader (1-2): An online program where students test their knowledge of books they have read. Each book is given a rating using the ATOS formula so that students can find and read books for their appropriate skill level.


STAR Reading: An online assessment that provides data on students' reading skills.


DreamBox Learning: An online math program that adapts to a student's skill level.


NWEA MAP testing:(1-2)Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) is an online test that students take at least four times throughout the year that provides the teacher with a measurement of a students understanding of the material being taught. This data provides the teacher with the ability to then make adjustments to a specific students needs, and provides insight into what subjects need more attention.


California Streaming: An educational resource provider that has copy-right free and subscription-based video and audio on-demand, images, print resources, and podcasts.

Each student is equipped with their own HP Stream 11 Laptop. Utilizing the laptop the students conduct research, write reports, and access various online learning programs and textbooks. Such as:


Gmail: Each student is provided with an email account as long as written permission is given from the parent. These email accounts are setup so that students may only receive and send emails to their teacher and other students. These accounts are also monitored to ensure that only school appropriate material is sent between students.


Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides

 

Google Classroom:  Lets Teachers communicate with their classes and easily share assignments, materials, and messages.

Reflex Math (4-5): Online math program that teaches math skills through fun interactive games. Each lesson is able to adapt to the skill set of each student allowing it to challenge the student but not completely overwhelm them.

Achieve3000 (4-8): An online learning program that provides nonfiction content that supports core curriculum. The articles provided adapts to the reader's reading level providing them with the same information as other classmates but at a level they can understand. Achieve3000 also provides teachers with reports that helps to immediately spot where students need help or immediate intervention.


StudySync (6-8): An English Language Arts (ELA) program designed to engage the digitally-connected students of today through the use of media-rich learning experiences, real-world topics, and a direct read-write connection.


DreamBox Learning: An online math program that adapts to a student's skill level.


CPM (Math Text Book 6-8): An online website so student can access their math textbook. Physical copies are also available in the classroom.
